Lore

Located within a part of the Brume in desperate need of repair, this newly renovated bakery stands out amongst the crumbling, abandoned buildings that fill the rest of the street. More peculiarly yet, despite the frozen climate, flowers and other plantlife have popped up amongst the rubble, blooming just as brightly as they would on a long-lost warm summer day.

Though he recently took a fall from grace that left him bereft of his former adoptive family's wealth, the ever-charitable Morganaux was undeterred by his circumstances, carrying on as if nothing had changed. He chose to start selling baked goods to raise funds for the orphanage he grew up in, and seeing the success of his project, he acquired an old, abandoned building to transform it into a proper bakery to run his business out of.

Reinette's Baguettes is named in honor of Saint Reinette's Merciful Embrace, the orphanage it serves as a fundraiser for. Following the life and lessons of Saint Reinette, the bakery seeks to better the community and provide aid to the needy. As such, beyond covering operational costs and ensuring that all workers are paid a fair living wage, all profits are given directly to the orphanage.In addition to the paid food and beverage options, the bakery offers free soup, bread, and drinks to any patrons who request them, no questions asked. Patrons with coin to spare may contribute to the Pay-It-Forward Wall located to the right of the entrance, pre-purchasing items of their choosing for those in need to claim. Reinette's Baguettes also gladly accepts donations of gil, food, clothing, and other items on behalf of the orphanage.

OOC Rules

• This is a strictly SFW venue, though all patrons must be 18 or older both ICly and OOCly to enter.• This venue is largely unstaffed, so a variety of IC jobs are performed by NPC staff. Please free to utilize them as needed, especially if we get busy!• There will be ZERO tolerance for OOC racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other form of bigotry. IC bigotry may result in IC consequences such as being scolded, receiving an arse-kicking, removal from the venue, and/or removal of one’s organs.• Be kind to one another! Bullying and harassment will not be tolerated here. However, keep OOC drama out of the venue, the discord, and any other associated spaces. If you don’t like someone, don’t interact with them. (This does NOT include serious matters such as OOC bigots, abusers, sex pests, etc., as those will NEVER be welcome. Additionally, if someone is making you uncomfortable, you are absolutely welcome to reach out to staff for assistance!)

Immersion Guidelines

• Please keep OOC chatter to a minimum to avoid flooding chat.• Although the primary venue, Saint's Rest, is a fight club that permits criminal activities, please keep in mind that during Reinette's Baguettes openings, the space is an ordinary bakery and there may be in-character consequences for behaviors that would be acceptable at the fight club.• Minions and summons are welcome so long as there is a valid IC reason for it. (Ex: Pets, arcane constructs, service animals, anything that actually exists for your character!)• Warriors of Light are welcome so long as their status as the WoL is irrelevant to the RP taking place at the venue. NPCs are welcome within reason. Please, please do not bring Zodiark to the bakery. I beg of thee. If it would be excessively disruptive, it’s a no-go.• Voidsent, sineaters, etc. are welcome. Just keep in mind that such beings are considered dangerous and are often killed on sight, and that they likely would keep their true nature on the downlow to avoid trouble.• Lore-bending is welcome within reason! Please keep in mind that the setting is a bakery in the Brume and try to stick to concepts that would not stick out like a sore thumb there. When in doubt, feel free to ask if it's fine!• Members of law enforcement (temple knights, inquisitors, clergy, etc.) are welcome so long as they do not disrupt the venue. Please refrain from attempting to investigate the bakery's secrets during bakery hours. (You may contact the owner to plot this out OUTSIDE of bakery hours, or show up for fight club!)• If a concept does not vibe with your lore, carry on and do not interact with it. Just be kind and do not give anyone a hard time.

For a minimum donation of 20,000 gil*, patrons may choose a carved wooden animal ornament to paint and take home. Festive snacks and beverages will be provided, included with the cost of entry.
